As part of our IT team, you are responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network concerns encountered by your fellow team members. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:

Analyzes computer and network related problems reported by end users. Implements the most effective method to resolve the issue or escalates the issue to the proper IT specialist. Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots general Local Area Network (wired and wireless), Wide Area Network, desktop and laptop computers, software solutions, and peripheral equipment.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  1. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network related problems encountered by end users.

  2. Responsible for setting up end user computer assets to departmental expectations.

  3. Periodical maintenance of all IT infrastructure assets.

  4. Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access of resources on the network.

  5. Keeps supervisor informed of job-related problems and other information related to work activity.

  6. Identifies and recommends methods for improving job functions.

  7. Advocate, emphasize, and participate in the safety, wellness, and ISO 9001 certification culture by knowing, following, and enforcing all policies and procedures.

  8. Perform any other duties as assigned or required. Complies with company, department and section policies and procedures as applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, plus 2 years of vocational/ college training in computer science or related area

  • Familiarity with remote desktop and mobile support solutions

  • Ability to install, diagnose, upgrade, and restore implemented software and hardware solutions

  • Ability to effectively respond to questions from groups of managers, supervisors, and staff associates.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of moving variables in specific situations.

  • A generalist technology background

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Day shift position with some weekend and on call responsibilities.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and equipment

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work with all departments regarding technology issues

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver

  • Effective time management skills
