Yes, it is! And we’re not affiliated with the network. Our “WCCO” is an acronym for Wahpeton Canvas Company. Belting for agricultural equipment was originally made from canvas fabric! When we transitioned to making belting with rubber in the 1980s, our founder updated our name to WCCO Belting, Inc. In July 2022, Continental acquired WCCO Belting, and we are now part of Continental! The Wahpeton facility here in North Dakota manufactures the WCCO Belting line of products, many for the agriculture industry.
We are a Continental facility that manufactures high-quality, custom rubber conveyor belting for agricultural machines under the WCCO Belting line of products which includes header drapers, swather and windrower belts, merger belts, pickup belts, conveyor belts, tub grinder belts, baler belts and cotton picker belts. We also manufacture belts for industrial equipment including for aggregates, material handling, package handling, recycling, forestry, and more.
Our Business Development team works with new and existing customers to design new products. Our Supply Chain, Operations, and Maintenance teams are the working gears that take the design and turn it into a belt. They design and source raw materials, build and maintain our equipment, and hone our processes to drive efficiency. We have been named multiple times as one of the areas’ Best Places to Work.
Our belting products are used for planting and harvesting food, road construction, luggage conveying, and getting those online orders to your front door. If you think about it, our products are all around you! We’ve been operating for more than 70 years and serve a unique target market. For recruiting, a business in a small town doesn’t stick around for long if they don’t treat people right. We use word-of-mouth advertising and reward employees for recruiting people they trust to work side-by-side with, mainly family and friends. But you don’t need a referral, just walk right in our front door and ask for an application or apply online!
Our compensation package is competitive with other area businesses. Benefits include but aren’t limited to paid-time-off, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401K retirement planning, tax-free healthcare spending accounts (HSA program), an employee recognition program, profit sharing (bonus) program, celebratory lunches and birthday cake, employee discounts for tires, vehicles, cell phones, travel, and much more. Our HR and Safety teams drive our health and wellness initiatives.
There are overtime opportunities with increased compensation for those seeking additional income. It’s always our goal to make overtime optional, but overtime may be required at some points in the year. We serve the agricultural community, the farmers who put food on our table, so our business can flux with their needs from planting season, through harvest, and the offseason when they’re performing maintenance on their equipment.
We’ll teach you! We don’t expect you to have belting or manufacturing experience when starting your career with us. Our Training & Standards Department has developed over 90 training courses – and counting – for our unique products and processes that will turn you into an expert in your field. And throughout your journey, your coworkers will offer you help and answer your questions because they were new once, too.
All our careers can be filled by anyone. As a matter of fact, we lead the industry standard for women in manufacturing. There are a variety of different types of work centers on the production floor, so you can find the area that suits you best. We’ll also train you to operate safely in that area to safeguard your physical health.
Yes! Our raw materials are engineered with extremely technical performance properties. The superior products we design – and often patented – are sought after by customers all over the world. Manufacturing our products requires custom-built equipment and even the systems technology to run our equipment is original. If you want to see for yourself, please come in for a tour.
We take pride in building and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. Our factory floor is spacious and brightly lit, and our operations team does a great job of keeping their work centers organized. Different types of activities occur in different areas of the building depending on where a product is in the manufacturing process, so you can find the best fit for your work style.
You’ll sense our culture on day one; this is a place that celebrates family values, a healthy work-life balance, and being an active neighbor in the community. This is where your work ethic and creativity are rewarded — all powered by teamwork that pushes you to perfect your skills and grow your career. Each day, we prove that loving where you work begins with the people you work with.
We are a safety-first manufacturer and proud member of the North Dakota Safety Council, National Safety Council and Tri-State Safety Association. We have a certified group of employees who are trained first responders for medical emergencies of any kind. Related to production, because our equipment is custom-built onsite by our talented engineers and maintenance team, we control the installation of significant safety measures for additional protection. You will be trained, many times over, to operate and work around the equipment we have in our building. Our commitment to safety is evident by the numerous safety awards we have received over the years.
We listen! We have a unique employee suggestion program that gives every employee a voice starting on day one. Since its launch in 2013, we’ve implemented thousands of employee ideas! Every idea is reviewed by a mid-level, cross-functional team for quick-decision making and implementation. Each month, we draw names for prizes from employees who shared feedback that led to improvements big and small.
1st Shift: 7AM to 3PM ; 2nd Shift: 3PM to 11PM ; 3rd Shift: 11PM to 7AM
We don't ask you to rotate shifts. We know that it’s important for your health and wellness, as well as that of your family, to maintain a schedule. You tell us the shift that works best for you, and we’ll do our best to accommodate. When personal appointments such as doctor visits or parent-teacher conferences occur during your shift, we encourage you to put family first and allow you to attend your event and then return to your shift. And if you are a parent, we try to be flexible based on your requirements at home.
There are many languages spoken here. We embrace people of all cultures and backgrounds and are proud to have created a company around people who love to work, collaborate, and grow together.
